The Equipment

HiFi-by-TY is a full-scale studio designed for professional recording, editing, mixing, and mastering — with a connected shop for onsite repairs and maintenance. The centerpiece of the control room is a Yamaha 02R96 digital console paired with a PreSonus Studio192 interface, creating a powerful hybrid system capable of capturing up to 56 tracks simultaneously. Every session benefits from 16-channel personal monitor mixers, giving each performer complete control over their own headphone mix.

Monitoring is handled through a selection of trusted referencing systems — including Neumann, Dynaco, KRK, REFTONE, BOSE, JBL (& JLAB epic lab), SONY, and Sennheiser — ensuring accurate translation across listening environments. All sessions are recorded to multiple Samsung T7 2TB SSDs through a Mac Studio M2 equipped with 96 GB of RAM and a 2 TB internal SSD. Pro Tools is operated across dual 27" displays for a detailed, efficient workflow, with 3 large monitors in the live room.

The studio includes two large professionally engineered isolation booths — 10' x 10' and 4' x 4' — both designed by Acoustic Systems, ideal for vocals, instruments/amplifiers, re-amping, Foley, ADR, and voiceover work.

There is a full-piece "house" acoustic drum kit that is all mic'd up and ready to rock in the studio's live room at all times. Also, an array of electric guitars, acoustic guitars, bass guitars, and amplifiers (tube and solid state), as well as cabs available for reasonable rent while recording in the studio.

In addition to in-studio production, Ty offers high-quality on-location recording for bands and small groups. The mobile setup features over 26 channels of premium interfacing, supporting simultaneous recording at 96 kHz on 16 channels and up to 192 kHz on 8 channels, as well as 8 channels of analog outboard dynamics processing, HPF/LPF, and phase control. A 32 GB MacBook Pro with an 8-core i9 powers the portable rig, ensuring reliable performance and pristine audio capture wherever the session takes place.
