About Ty

Ty is a dedicated audio engineer, musician, and technician whose work blends technical precision with genuine artistic passion and creativity. A proud graduate of Berklee's Advanced Professional Certification in Audio Production—completed with a 4.0 GPA, as well as selection for scholarship after graduation—Ty is an Avid Pro Tools Certified Specialist and continues to expand his expertise through ongoing coursework at Berklee Online, including advanced studies such as Microphone Techniques. He is a committed perpetual student of the industry, seeking answers always. Ty handles every step of the production process: recording, editing, mixing, and mastering...and his extensive microphone and outboard gear collection allows him to tailor each session to the unique needs of the artist.

Ty is also an accomplished guitarist with over 25 years of experience, known for his distinctive percussive fingerstyle acoustic technique. His deep understanding of instruments led him to offer professional stringed instrument setups, repairs, modifications, and maintenance—services he provides with the skill of a technician and the mindset of a musician. Local music shops often rely on his expertise, and his background in mechanics has given him refined technical instincts and tool sets, from soldering, to delicate hardware repair and wood-working skills.

Background

Before transitioning fully to audio, Ty spent nearly two decades in technical/mechanical roles ranging from automotive technician roles and education at Daimler Chrysler and other small shops, to precision printing and technical setup/maintenance for a major health organization. He'd also had the privilege of spending many years learning his craft alongside local guitar legend Scott Fritz, founder of Schoolhouse Music, the Danville/Bloomsburg area's most iconic music shop for over 43 years. Known for exceptional craftsmanship, honest service, and some "miracle" repairs, Schoolhouse set a standard of integrity that Ty carries forward into his own daily work.
